Chapter 9

Saanvi's p.o.v

Finally the day came when I was going to join the office. Ishika had already joined the office two days ago.

I got ready wearing a simple plain plazo suit and went outside where Ronak Bhai, Pranav Bhai and Ishika were waiting for me to take me to the office.

When we were about to reach the office, I asked them to drop me off a little away.

After separating from them, I went towards the office.

I was excited to start my first day in the office.

Soon someone informed me about my responsibilities. I was asked to assist Pranav Bhai in the work, which makes me happy.

I knocked on the door before entering the office,where Pranav Bhai was doing his work.

“ Good morning sir”, I said entering the room.

“ Good morning!! So ready for your first day?”Pranav Bhai asked me.

“ Yes Sir!!”I replied and soon got busy with my work.

In the break time,I met with Ishika and some other colleagues as well. Everyone in the company is very respectful towards each other.

After few days,

It has been a few days since I have joined the company. 

Everything is going great. Ishika and I are learning many things under the leadership of Ronak Bhai and Pranav Bhai.

I had very little communication with Vedanth after that day. In the office also, he had his office on the top floor and no one is allowed to go there without his permission.

One day, I was lying on the bed after dinner trying to sleep. 

But due to indigestion,I wasn't able to sleep. I saw the time and it was midnight already.

I thought about taking a walk in the lawn to digest the food. I put on my slippers and went downstairs. I was in the lawn admiring the night view when I heard some voices. 

I thought of going there and seeing what was happening.

I quietly followed the sound and reached behind the mansion where an abundant room was present. 

I went near the room and saw Vedanth, Ronak Bhai, Pranav Bhai and Vedanth's assistant Arun, standing inside the room.

While a man was tied to the chair, bleeding badly.

“ Vedanth Bhai, he is the one who had tried to rape the girl of our village”, Pranav Bhai informed Vedanth.

Vedanth went near him and gave him a punch.

He held his hair, made him look into his eyes and said, “ How dare you bastard?? You tried to hurt the people under Kal….who gave you the courage??”

Vedanth continues to beat him, making him almost unconscious.

Ronak Bhai and Pranav Bhai continue to stand there with expressionless faces.

I was shocked to see them like this. I had always seen them smiling and never seen their ruthless avatar. 

This means they also know about Vedanth being the Mafia King and not only knows,but they are also part of this world.

I gasped, seeing Vedanth pointing the revolver against the man’s head.

“ Please leave me…I am sorry ... .I will not touch any girl in my life”, the man begged Vedanth.

“ There is no place for forgiveness in Kal’s life”, Vedanth said and pulled the trigger, making me scared.

I took a few  steps back and ran from there before they could catch me

I entered my room and drank a glass of water before sitting on the bed, trying to control my emotions.

“ He killed him…”, I mumbled, still in shock.

“ Because the man had tried to ruin a girl…I don't think Vedanth had done anything wrong”, my consciousness tried to defend him.

“ But what he did was also a crime….”, I mumbled, not able to accept that the Randhawa brothers had murdered someone.

“ I don't think there is anything wrong in punishing such a pervert. Secondly, you already know he is a Mafia leader so what can you expect?”, my consciousness mocked me.

I was trying to come in terms with everything when suddenly someone entered my room and locked the door from inside.

I looked up and saw Vedanth had entered my room.

“ You?”, I asked him, with shocked expressions.

It was the first time that he had entered my room.

He looked at me with his keen eyes.

“ Where were you a few minutes ago?”he asked me in his dominant voice.

“ Uhh?? Me?? I was sleeping”, I said, trying to lie.

“ Ohh… really?”, he asked with a smirk.

“ Then I think I have seen your ghost running from there..”, he said, coming closer to me, making me take a few steps back.

I felt a wall behind me, making me stop. He stood in front of me, trapping me against the wall.

“ What were you doing there??”, he asked me.

“ I ….I wasn't able to sleep…so I was having a walk…and then heard some voice…so I went to see out of curiosity….”, I saw, explaining to him.

He leaned towards me and whispered in my ear, “ I think you haven't heard Curiosity kills the cat”.

He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to himself.

He held my chin, making me look into his eyes.

“ Listen to me Saanvi and listen carefully …..Don't try to know things that are not good for you. I shouldn't see you sneaking around here and there from now onwards…..Did you get it?”he questioned me, raising his voice.

“ Yes!”, I said, feeling scared of him.

“ Good girl”, he said, removing his hand from my chin and caressing my cheek softly.

We stood like this for a few seconds before he took a step back, creating some space between us.

I felt his eyes falling down on my neck. I looked down and saw my mangalsutra (nuptial chain) was visible to his eyes.

He looked at me for a few seconds and then suddenly left my room, without saying anything.

I took a sigh of relief, seeing him going away. It was getting difficult to breathe around his powerful personality.

“He had seen me wearing my Mangalsutra(nuptial chain). What would he think about me?I  mumbled, slapping my forehead.

“ I need to sleep”, I thought and went to sleep, trying to think about what happened a few minutes ago.
