Chapter 6

Saanvi's p.o.v

I was lying on the bed when I felt someone jumping on me, making me startled.

“ Boohoo….”, I heard someone’s scream, making me scream in fear as well.

I heard someone’s laughing sound,which was very familiar to me.

I looked up and saw Ishika lying on my bed, holding her stomach and laughing madly.

“ You”, I said, picking up the cushion and starting beating her for scaring me.

“ Sorry…. I am sorry ... .Saanvi baby please”, she said, pouting, making me melt.

“ Okay! I forgive you”, I said to her, lying beside her.

“ How was your last exam??”, She asked me.

“ It was good”, I replied.

“ I hope Vedanth Bhai wasn't rude to you”, She asked me.

“ It was okay”, I replied lying, which makes me feel guilty.

“ How was the function? Did you enjoy it?”, I asked her , trying to change the topic.

“ It was very bad ... .I didn't enjoy it without you”, she said, making faces.

“ Why?? Ronak Bhai and Pranav Bhai were with you then why didn't you enjoy the party?”, I asked her.

“ They left the party in between and went somewhere without telling anyone”, Ishika told me.

Ronak Bhai is the younger brother of Vedanth while Pranav Bhai is the elder brother of Ishika and cousin of Vedanth and Ronak.

“ Are they also involved in the mafia like Vedanth?”, I suddenly thought, knowing these brothers are very close to each other.

Also Ronak and Pranav Bhai consider Vedanth their role model. They want to follow in his footsteps and make their family proud like their brother.

“ Where are you lost?”, I heard Ishika asking me.

“ Nowhere…where is Purvi Aunty?”, I asked

“ She is downstairs with others”, Ishika told me.

“ Okay! I will just go and meet everyone”,I said.

“Let's go together “, Ishika said and got up from the bed.

As soon as we entered the hall, I saw Vedanth's parents, Rudra and Nandini Randhawa sitting on the couch beside Vedanth's grandparents.

While Vedanth's Chacha-chachi ( Uncle-Aunt), Manav and Purvi Randhawa, were sitting in front of them.

I went and greeted them with a smile. Ishika went and sat beside Nandini Aunty who caressed her hair.

“ How are you, my child?”, Purvi Aunty asked me, cupping my cheek.

“ I am fine Aunty”, I replied to her.

Later she asked me about my exams and about traveling experience.

“ Finally both of you will stay in the house since your study has finished. Without both of you, this house seemed very empty. But now,it will be filled with your laughter”, Nandini Aunty said, making Ishika and I smile.

Although I am not their blood but Randhawa family has always treated me as one of their own. They had never let me feel like an outsider. They had given a loving family,for which I am very grateful to them.

“ Yes, it's true. I felt sad thinking what will happen to us when our girls get married and go to their new house, leaving us”, Dadi ji said,lost in her thoughts.

The smile vanished from my lips, hearing her words. The word marriage reminds me of what happened yesterday.

“ We are not going to get married and leave you all”, Ishika said, hugging her grandmother.

“ Right, Saanvi?” Ishika asked me.

“ Yes”, I said, giving her a fake smile.

In the night,I was lying on the bed thinking about the new twists and turns of my life. I was feeling guilty because I was betraying the family who had given me everything. I was hiding such a big thing from them. But I can't tell the truth to them as well because it was going to hurt them without any doubt.

Moreover I can't go against Vedanth. So it's better for everyone not to know the trust of my and Vedanth’s relationship.

I should also forget about this unexpected marriage but I don't know how.

I don't know when I went into deep slumber thinking about all these.

“ Saanvi beta …from now onwards, Purvi and her family is your family….. Always listen to them and never do anything to hurt them… I just want you to live your life with happiness, leaving the dark past behind”, I heard my mother's last words in my dream.

“ Mumma”, I woke up, remembering those last moments which I had spent with my mother.

I wiped my tears and looked outside which was still a little dark.

Since I know I am not going to get any more sleep, I decided to get up, instead of lying on the bed.

I went to the washroom to freshen up before going downstairs to have my tea.

After making my favorite tea,I went to the lawn to admire the beauty of nature.

I was mesmerized seeing the beautiful view. I have shifted to Randhawa Mansion after my mother's death but I am not living here after I completed my school. Because after completing our school, Ishika and I had to shift to the city to attend the University.

Once joining the city,we have very less time to spend in the Mansion.

Everyone in the family is very nice to me and treats me just like Ishika.

I feel blessed to have them in my life, especially Ishika who is my soul sister.

I was admiring the beautiful flowers when I felt someone’s heated gaze on me.

I looked around and suddenly my eyes fell on the third floor balcony.

My hazel eyes connect with his dark black eyes for a moment.

I felt myself freezing under his intense gaze. I turned my eyes, not having the courage to meet his intense gaze.

When I looked again,I found him missing, which made me sigh in relief.

I wasn't surprised to see him up early in the morning because everyone in the family knows his routine. He usually woke up at 5 o'clock in the morning and workout in his personal Gym for an hour.

After spending some time in nature, I went to my room and had a shower,ready to start my day.
