Chapter 9

Two days later,

Today, Avni had a night shift so she was taking a round, checking reports of some patients. Soon she reached the children’s ward.

She saw the boy whom she had met that night. He was wide awake and not ready to eat his medicine. His mother was sitting beside him, trying to convince him.

“ Hey champ”, Avni said, going close to him.

“ Hello Dr Angel”, he said, giving her a smile.

“ Dr Angel?”, she asked him.

“ Yes, you are pretty like an Angel ... .So I have named you, Dr Angel”, he said, cutely.

She smiled hearing his innocent talk.

“ Thank you Baby!! Now tell me, why aren't you eating your medicine??”, She asked him.

“ They are so yuck…I hate them”, he said, making a bad face.

“Don't you want to play like before, run like before??”, she asked him.

“ Yes!! I am feeling so bored lying the whole day on this bed”, he said, complaining.

“ If you will not eat your medicine,then how will you get well?  If you want to run like before then you have to take your medicines on time”, She told him, making him pout.

“ Okay!! But only when you will gave me  medicines”, he said, making her and his mother laugh.

“ Okay!! Superhero”, She said, pinching his cheek lightly.

Shivansh was standing at the corner, looking at her communicating with the children.

He had a small smile on his lips, seeing her becoming a child herself with the children.

 Next day, Shivansh called her and asked her to come to his cabin.

As soon as she entered his cabin,he gave her a report.

“ You are going to assist me tomorrow in a surgery. This is the report of that patient. I want you to read this report properly and not make any mistakes in the O.T”, He said in his manly voice, making her shocked.

“ What?? Really?”She asked him.

“ Yes!! And now you can go back to your work”, He said, dismissing her.

She left his cabin with a file in her hand, not believing her ears.

She pinched herself to make sure she was not dreaming.

“ Hiss”, she felt the pain but a smile appeared on her face.

She hugged the file and left for her home since her shift is over.

As soon as she reached home, she took a shower, had her dinner and sat on the study table, started studying the reports.

Early in the morning, she got ready,took blessings from God and her family, before leaving for the hospital.

Today is a very special day for her. She is very excited for the new experience.

As soon as she reached the hospital,she went to Dr Shivansh's cabin.

He gave her some instructions and asked her to get ready for the surgery.

Soon both of them entered the Operation Theatre. Today he was going to perform Aortic valve surgery, a very complex surgery.

She was looking at his every move very keenly. The way he was performing the operation was just wow. His every action was very clean and perfect. It was like he was not operating but performing magic.

She was very impressed with his work. She learned many things from his way of surgery.

He finished the operation soon and left the patient’s after caring for her.

“ I will take care of him and notify you,if something happens”, Avni informed him.

He nodded his head and left from there. Avni also got busy with her work, attending to some patients.

During lunch time, She went to the cafeteria where Manvi, Vansh and Rohan were waiting for her.

“ Hey!!”, Avni said, sitting on the chair, beside them.

“Hello!! So how was your experience?”, Manvi asked her.

“ Mind-blowing….He is really a genius surgeon. The way he performed the operation  was so magical”, Avni told them excitedly.

“ He had performed every step so neatly…I can't just explain everything in words ... .I can just say we are lucky to have him as our Mentor. Although he is a Dr Devil, there is no doubt,he is the best in his field”, She said,with sparkling eyes.

They were listening to her carefully, with admiration in their eyes towards Dr Shivansh.

“ I forgot to tell you some important news”, Rohan said to them.

“ What??”, three of them asked him.

“ A new intern is coming tomorrow and going to join us for the year”, Rohan told them.

“ What?? How do you know?”, Vansh asked him.

“ Because he is my batchmate and my good friend”, Rohan told them.

“ That's great”, Vansh told them.

“ Is he handsome?”Manvi asked them.

Avni shaked her in disbelief, hearing Manvi’s question.

“ Manvi, you are too much”, Vansh said, in a little jealous tone.

“ What?? Only boys have the right to admire beautiful girls?”,Manvi said, glaring at him.

Avni and Rohan were looking at Vansh and Manvi, who were glaring at each other.

Avni thought something and smiled slightly, but didn't say anything.

Rohan also smiled seeing them. He knows about Vansh’s true feelings but didn't say anything,since he wants both of them to realise it themselves.

Seeing them, he remembered his and his fiance, Megha. They were also like this, always fighting and struggling to express their feelings but now they have been together for more than four years and soon going to get married.  

He was looking at them, when he felt his cell phone ringing. He picked it and saw his fiance, Megha calling him.

“ Hello baby”, he said,with a love filled voice, making others give him a tease look.

“ Yes!! I will be there soon. Love you, bye”, he said and hung up the call.

As soon as he looked up, he saw them looking at him with curious eyes.

“ You didn't tell us you have a girlfriend”, Vansh complained to him.

“ Fiance not girlfriend”, Rohan said, correcting him.

“ Ohhh…..Wow..”, Vansh said, feeling happy for him.

“ Congratulations”, Avni said to him, congratulating him for his engagement.

“ Thanks”, Rohan said, giving her a smile.

“ When are you going to make us meet her?”Manvi asked him.

“How about on the weekend? If you all are free…”, Rohan asked them.

“ I am free”, Manvi and Vansh said together and then glared at each other.

“ I am free as well”, Avni told him.

“ Great!! It's decided then…”, Rohan said,with a smile.
