Chapter 5

After having her dinner,Avni sat down to write the assignment. It took her three hours to complete the assignment. The whole time she was thinking about the culprit and his motive.

Next day,she got up early in the morning and went to the hospital. 

She placed her assignment on Dr Shivansh’s table since he was busy in the surgery in which Gourav, her colleague, was assisting him.

Avni was checking some reports,when she saw Gourav and other interns coming.

They were congratulating him for the opportunity and asking him about his experience.

“ You have worked really hard”, Vansh said to Gourav, making him feel proud.

Avni went near Gourav who was busy hearing his praises.

“ I want to talk with you about something important”, Avni told him with a blank face.

Everyone was looking at her blank face. They felt odd and think maybe she is sad because Dr Shivansh scolded her yesterday.

“ Yay!! Sure”, He said and went from there with her.

They went to an empty room around the corner.

“ What do you want to talk about??”, he asked her.

“ It was you who changed my assignment right?”, she questioned him.

“ Are you blaming me?? Why would I do this?”, he said, getting a little angry.

“ Because you know very well that if you hadn't changed the assignment,I would have gotten this opportunity. And please don’t lie…….”, Avni said to him.

Gourav started laughing, looking at her.

“ Yes!! You guessed it right. But so what, it's not like anyone is going to believe you and you have no proof to start with”, Gourav said, laughing.

“You have really taught me a good lesson to never trust anyone…I have trusted you as a friend and you have backstabbed me just for a small opportunity”, Avni said, looking at him with disgust filled eyes.

“ For me, nothing is important except winning. I have learnt only one thing in my life and that's,to win at any cost”, Gourav said to her.

“ I will see how you will win next time. You will get your retribution soon”, Avni said and left from there.

In the evening, Avni went to the cafeteria to have her coffee. As soon as she entered the cafeteria, she saw Vansh and Rohan sitting with Gourav.

When they looked towards her, they didn't say anything,just looked at her with strange eyes.

Manvi came near her and took her outside.

“ What happened??  Why are Vansh and Rohan looking at me strangely?”, she asked Manvi.

“ Gourav told us that's because you felt jealous of his success so you are lying and blaming him for your assignment mishaps.“, Manvi told her.

“ Did you also believe him?”, Avni asked her, staring at her face.

“ If I had believed him then I would have been sitting together with him and not here with you”, Manvi said, rolling her eyes.

“ Thank you for trusting me”, Avni said, smiling.

“ Now tell me what exactly happened?”She asked Avni.

Avni told her everything in detail, making her shocked.

“ How dare he?? What a backstabber?? Let me put him in his place”, Manvi got ready to go and fight him.

“ Let it be!!”, Avni said, stopping her.

“ It was my mistake. I should have been extra careful”, Avni said to her.

“ But….. Okay!! But I don't want to see you sad. Let's go clubbing tonight.”, Manvi suggested.

“ But…”, Avni tries to deny.

“ No if and but. We have a night shift tomorrow so it's okay to enjoy tonight. It's your first time in Mumbai. So I am going to show you what is called Mumbai's nightlife…. Moreover who knows, maybe you will get your dream boy in the club”, Manvi said, winking at her.

“ Manvi!!”, Avni said, raising her voice slightly.

“ Come on baby!! I am sure you will enjoy it”, Manvi said, trying to convince her.

“ Okay”, Avni said, agreeing with her.

“ Yay”, Manvi said, hugging her happily.

Later, Avni got a video call from her brother Ahaan. 

“ Hey bro!! How are you?”She said, picking his call. 

“ I am good. What about you?”, he asked her.

“ I am great…where are you?”, she asked him. 

“I am at home. I can’t tell you how difficult it is to take a leave from the office.You know how strict Dad and Ayush are regarding work.”, Ahaan said, in a complaining tone.

“ Come on Bro!! Stop doing drama ... .Now tell me, how is Naina bhabhi?”She asked him.

“ Actually we want to tell you something important. Naina and I haven't told about this to anyone because we want to share this with you first”,Ahaan said to her.

“ Is everything okay?”She asked him.

“ Yes!! Let me call Naina. We will share the news together ”, Ahaan said and called Naina.

“ Hello Bhabhi”, Avni said, seeing Naina getting in front of her.

“ Hey Princess”, Naina said smiling 

“ So what's the news?”, She asked them.

They smiled and said, “ You are going to become Aunt. We are pregnant”, 

“ What? Really??? Oh My God!!”, Avni said, screaming with happiness.

“ Congratulations Bhai and Bhabhi. I am so happy…”, Avni said, screaming.

Ahaan and Naina smiled seeing her screaming happily.

“ What are you both waiting for? Go and tell everyone the good news…I can imagine everyone’s happy faces once they know the news”, Avni said, excitedly.

“ Yeah!!”, Ahaan said.

They talked for a few minutes and Avni asked Naina about her health before hanging up the call.

Avni was very happy knowing the news about the upcoming baby. She can't wait to hold her nephew or niece in her arms, the first child of their generation.

She looked at the time and remembered her plan to go to a club with Manvi. She got ready in a beautiful blue dress, looking hot and sexy. She did a little makeup and wore her silver heels. 

She got a message from Manvi who was waiting downstairs. She locked her apartment and ran downstairs.

She sat in the car and they made their way towards the famous club of Mumbai.

In the Raghuvanshi Mansion,

Ahaan and Naina announced the good news to their families, making them more than happy.

“ Congratulations!!”Ayush said, hugging Ahaan and congratulating Naina.

Adhiraj and Mira were very happy knowing they are going to become grandparents. 

“ Let me call Avni and tell her the good news”,Ronak said,ready to call his favourite cousin.

“ We have already told her the news”, Ahaan informed them.

“ Thank you,Beta '', Ahaan’s grandmother said, placing her hand on her head, giving her blessings.
